The history of our Gästehaus Talbach

In the former 'Kohlgrube' ('coal pit'), where miners’ houses used to be located more than 150 years ago, you will find Schladming’s most charming guest house.

Since 1960, the Gästehaus Talbach has been a safe haven for many skiers and alpine climbers, seeking a resort to recover from their exciting and adventurous days in Schladming’s famous alps, the 'Dachstein Mountains’.

Whilst the guest house’s facilities have since been altered to meet modern standards of comfort and functionality, our dedication and attentive service to our guest has remained the same.

What has been initiated by my mother more than 50 years ago, has over the years developed into a small yet successful family-run business and we pride ourselves in the high level of service we offer our guests.

What is important to us

Those whom we have welcomed in our guest house have played a crucial role in its development. Our guests, friends and family have made this place so very special.

As our guests, you trust us with your most precious time of the year, which is why we will do all we can in order for you to enjoy a pleasant and carefree holiday in our wonderful guesthouse and its beautiful surroundings.

Everyone should leave the Gästehaus Talbach relaxed and happy — looking forward to their next stay.
